15+
Year Experience
Culturally Responsive Care
With over 15+ years of experience in the disability support sector, we’ve seen first-hand the challenges many participants face when accessing NDIS services – and these aren’t minor issues. They directly impact people’s dignity, confidence, and overall quality of life.
We’ve witnessed the emotional toll of inconsistent support workers showing up without notice, and participants being excluded from decisions about who supports them, when, and how. Too often, personal routines, communication preferences, and cultural needs are overlooked or dismissed, and care feels rushed or transactional rather than meaningful.
Language and cultural barriers have led to misunderstanding, leaving participants feeling disconnected and unheard. In some cases, there’s no follow-up when things go wrong — or no explanation at all. We’ve seen participants overcharged, confused by unclear service agreements, and left in the dark when changes in rosters, pricing, or availability occur without ‘warning. Worst of all, many feel that their feedback is ignored, and that poor communication is simply part of the process.
But it shouldn’t be. These are real issues — and we believe participants deserve better. Read out Emergency Support Policy to see how we do things differently.
